AICPA Business Solutions Workshop in Georgia
  The AICPA, in conjunction with the GSCPA, is bringing CPE to Georgia with a one-day workshop - "Delivering on Your Trusted Advisor Status." IRS Issues List of Vehicles that Qualify for the Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit - Purchasers of certain large trucks, buses or other heavy vehicles running on alternative fuel can claim a credit of up $32,000, and purchasers of certain large hybrid trucks and other heavy hybrid vehicles can claim a credit of up to $12,000 if they qualify for the Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit. 

IRS Issues Fall 2007 Statistics of Income Bulletin - The IRS has released the fall 2007 issue of the Statistics of Income Bulletin, featuring data from 134.4 million individual income tax returns filed for tax year 2005. U.S. taxpayers reported $7.4 trillion of adjusted gross income less deficit in tax year 2005, up 9.3 percent from tax year 2004 when 132.2 million returns were filed.

SAS No. 104-111 Toolkit Now Available on PCPS Firm Practice Center Site
The Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS) of the AICPA has developed an online toolkit to help members understand and implement Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 104-111 "Risk Assessment Standards." The complete toolkit, accessible to PCPS Member Firms, is available at http://msg1svc.net/servlet/Gateway?p=gscpa&u=18018&et=H&s=0. It includes talking points, a glossary and a client communication letter, among other resources. For interested parties, a free FAQ sheet and SAS No. 104-111 Web Forum Archive are available on that web site.  

GSCPA Taxation Section Annual IRS/GA DOR Surveys

In January, the GSCPA Taxation Section is meeting with the Georgia Department of Revenue and the Atlanta Office of the IRS. In order to convey the proper message to these two agencies, we need GSCPA members to fill out the 2007 Annual IRS/Georgia Dept. of Revenue surveys. These surveys will close on January 1. You can find the link to the surveys below, which should only take about 20 minutes to complete
