SOUTH’S FUNNIEST ACCOUNTANT SEARCH
– Accountants One is proving financial professionals are funnier than you think with their expanded 2007 Search for the South’s Funniest Accountant. Any accountants or financial professionals in the southeast are eligible to try out for the comedy search. Auditions will be held on Monday, September 10 at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. Please contact Randi Bates at 404-474-8640 to schedule your audition time. If you cannot attend the audition, please mail a one minute audition tape to Accountants One, Attn: Randi Bates at 1866 Independence Square, Atlanta, GA 30338. The comedy search will culminate in a one-night amateur performance on Thursday, October 25th at the Coca-Cola Roxy to benefit Junior Achievement of Georgia.TAX INFO: New Rule Will Not Affect Teacher Salaries in Upcoming School Year - Moving to clear up confusion about a recent tax law change, the IRS reassured teachers and other school employees that new deferred-compensation rules will not affect the way their pay is taxed during the upcoming school year.
Treasury, IRS Issue Guidance on Transactions of Interest - The Treasury Department and the IRS issued two notices that identify as transactions of interest certain transactions involving “toggling” grantor trusts and certain transactions involving contributions of a successor member interest in a limited liability company.
