Hoops, chair of the AICPA’s Tax Executive Committee, recently commended the U.S. Department of the Treasury for its 2006 report on the tax gap at a roundtable discussion on the topic sponsored by the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service.

In the commercial litigation arena, plaintiffs often seek to recover lost profits, lost business value, or sometimes both. This presentation addresses the question of which methodology to use under which circumstances, and provides examples of when to use each, as well as scenarios in which use of both methodologies might be applicable.
