Professional Ethics Committee

To be responsible for all matters relating to ethics of members of the Society subject only to the duties prescribed by the bylaws for the Board of Directors and the trial board and by the Public Accountancy Act for the Georgia State Board of Accountancy. To investigate complaints made against members of alleged violations under the Code of Professional Ethics of the Society. To disseminate information in the form of written communications and of speaking engagements or ethics at various meetings of Society members including chapter meetings and conferences. To review proposed changes in the code of professional ethics of the AICPA. Committee members are required to complete a CPE ethics course prior to or during the first year of service. Requires attendance commitment.
